Someone asks: “What is the purpose of life?” The purpose of life is spirituality. And spirituality is knowing one SELF. You have come to earth to know your SELF. Who are you? To have the complete answer to this question, one must embrace a journey. This journey is the highest form of devotion.
“Devotion to whom?” Some may ask. It is a devotion to your SELF. This SELF is what we call God. You are here to understand God, to know God, to see God, and to realize God. These are the four steps of this sacred devotion.
This devotion is sacred, because it is personal. It’s like a well that quenches our thirsts, regardless of the kind, for one reason which is happiness. What is happiness? Happiness is to realize God. Happiness grows from peace, tolerance, wisdom, and love. When you reach love, happiness becomes full.
How to attain perfect peace
Written by Alain Yaovi M. Dagba
Jesus said: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14: 27). You are able to recognize the dark, because you have seen the light. You are able to recognize bitterness, because you have experienced joy. This is the truth that we learn more in differences than we do in similarities.
Consequently, you will not be able to see the difference between the peace that comes from the world and the peace from the Christ within, unless you have experienced true peace from Christ. Jesus said that there is a peace that the world gives; and there is a peace that he, as the Christ in human form can give.
This self-less service is the highest form of worship. This purpose to serve
others is actually the true meaning of happiness. Those who have truly found happiness on earth will tell you that once you find it, it gives no other feeling but the feeling to serve.
What is spirituality?
Spirituality is a path. This path is a journey. This journey is an inner journey. You have to become a pilgrim in the search of your true self. The true self is your holy grail, your promise land, your happiness, and your realization as the image and the likeness of God. Your true self is the kingdom of God within.
To forgive is to give with love. To For-give is to give with love what one would love to receive from others. The illuminated soul does not forgive because she fears the fire of hell. She does not forgive because she fears the wrath of God. No! Her forgiveness has no condition.
